Type-U Reef
Bluehome offers different types of artificial reefs. The Type-U reef is an improved habitat for both juvenile and large adult lobsters. This artificial reef will be particularly effective on a hard and uneven substrate, regardless of how it sits on the seabed. Designed with multiple openings, it provides a secure shelter for marine species, such as lobsters. Weighing 57 lb, the Type-U reef is designed to withstand strong marine currents.
Bluehome reefs offer a rough surface to facilitate algae anchoring. Lobsters prefer spaces with entrances hidden by algae. The presence of algae also reduces the force of currents near the substrate and decreases light penetration, which is favorable to lobsters.
